Monthly Nails + Pick of the Month - June
Hi, everyone! Well, the year is half way over! I really can't believe it went by that fast, but, that means it's time for another "Monthly Nails"! This time I have four different polishes to show! So, lets get started...
The first is Essie "Play Date". It was a really pretty color. It took two coats to make it opaque, but it wasn't very streaky. Nice wearing time and a good polish overall.
The next one is a Revlon Scented polish (not much of a scent) in "Mad About Mango". I thought it was pretty good. I'm not sure if this was two coats or one. I think it was pretty similar to the regular line of nail polishes Revlon has, just a very slight scent of mango which kind of disappears after the top coat.
This one is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in "Mint Sprint". I'm not a big fan of this line of nail polishes. I usually enjoy Sally Hansen nail polishes, but the Insta-Dri formula dosen't work great. The color was pretty and not too terribly streaky, but it did not last long on the nails before chipping.
The last one is Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant in "Peaches and Cream". These polishes are supposed to be used without a top coat, which I thought was kind of neat and time saving. However, I had a problem with it taking a very long time to dry, so I got a few smudges before it completely hardened. While the color was very pretty, I didn't think the nail polish worked very well. It went on very streaky, and even after two coats it was very hard to even out. It started chipping fairly quickly, too.
So... for the Pick of the Month, it goes to... Essie "Play Date". I really enjoyed the color, and the nail polish worked fairly well.
I hope you all enjoyed this long post and please don't forget to leave a comment telling me your thoughts! As always, don't forget to follow my blog for more updates!

Turquoise Stone Nails
Hi, everyone! Sorry for the big gap in posts here, but this has been my first nail design since last month. I recently saw missjenfabulous nail tutorial on turquoise stone nails (click here to watch her tutorial), and had to try it myself. It took me forever to do this (maybe more than an hour), but I thought the result was really nice. However, just be warned it got really messy (add on about another 15 or 20 minutes for clean up). It really wasn't that difficult, though. Anyway, here it is...
I got a little fancy with the pictures :) Let me know what you think of it and if you'll try it sometime!

Monthly Nails + Pick of the Month - May
Hi, everyone! It's time again for Monthly Nails! May was an awesome month for nail polish - lots of great finds! But I feel like this is going to be kind of boring...
Other than my two designs I did this month, the plain nails were both pink - almost the exact same shade, too! This one is Zoya "Lara"... really great nail polish, as well as the next one. It was opaque, so I only needed one coat for this. It didn't last a very long time on my nails, but it wasn't awful, either.
This one is OPI "Kiss Me on My Tulips"... yes both of these look almost exactly the same, a hot pink, and applied and lasted the same, too. It was also opaque (only one coat) and the lasting time was about the same as the Zoya polish. This one might be a little more deeper, maybe more magenta, but on the nails it would be hard to tell. They're both really pretty, and almost exactly alike, so there's no pick this month!

Feathered Nail Art
Hi, everyone! Going blog crazy - aren't I? I painted my nails a few days ago with this feathered nail polish by Nails Inc. and it turned out amazing!
The picture makes it look a lot less vibrant than it is. It's a beautiful minty nail polish (Essie's "Turquoise and Caicos:) with the Nails Inc. feathered nail polish on top (in the shade "Brighton"). It reminds me a little of a robin's egg. One of my new favorite designs for sure :) This is definitely an easy one too. Hope you enjoyed and will try this yourself.

Glitter Design
Hi, everyone! So, last weekend I was shopping and I saw a picture in Sephora of these nails with glitter near the cuticles... and I thought, why not? :)
I kind of liked it. I think it might be better if the glitter kind of "rained" down the nail (without such a sharp edge like I did). Not my favorite, but it gave me a new idea, so maybe I'll try something similar again.

Monthly Nails + Pick of the Month - April
Hi, everyone! So, bit of a problem for April... forgot to write down the name of these blue nails...
Well, what do I do now? I tried comparing the picture to some blue nail polishes I have, but that doesn't give much accuracy. I think it was Revlon's "Waterfall" (which is one of my favorite nail polishes). I know, I know, stupid of me, right? April was a kind of busy month for me, with going on vacation, so my life kind of went out of order for a bit. Hope you all will forgive this stupidity of mine... I'll make sure everything will run normal now.
I remember this one! Yay! Revlon's "Decadent"... a new one for me. It's from their Top Speed line. I love Revlon nail polishes, but I never tried their Top Speed line. It worked well (don't remember exactly how long it stayed on my nails - I'll make sure I note that better next time). The color was amazing! A deep purple with blue tones.
Pick of the month - hard for me... but I'd probably have to say "Decadent" (partly because I don't remember what the other polish was). "Decadent" was really pretty and a really nice nail polish.
Hope you enjoyed this out-of-order-post... a new design coming soon :)

Polka Dot Nails + new YouTube channel!
Hi, everyone! I'm back and I have a really simple and cute design to share...
It's really nice for spring, but you can change the colors around so it can be worn on any occasion! All I did was use a lavender nail polish to paint all my nails, then I used a dotting tool (if you don't have one you can use a toothpick) to make the green dots. Hope you all enjoy this simple little design!
And - big announcement! I have a YouTube channel now! It's called fabnailsbyliz <- click this to go to my first video. Please take the time to visit it and subscribe :) Or, if your coming from my channel, please take the time to follow my blog... big thanks! Bye!

Monthly Nails - March
Hi, everyone! Long time, no see, I know. I was on vacation for a couple weeks late last month and this month, but I'm catching back up now :) Where do I start?... I guess March nails. It was a long time ago, but I'll try my best in describing these...
First was China Glaze "No Plain Jane". It was an unusual purpley-green color. One that would appear mostly purple, but have a little green tone to it as well. This picture does no justice. China Glaze, as I've said before, stays on the nails fairly well and is a good nail polish brand overall.
The only other plain nails I did last month was from a brand called Piggy Polish. I couldn't find a name for this color anywhere, but it was really pretty. It was a bluish-purple. The picture doesn't show the bit of purple it has in it, but it's there. This didn't last especially long on my nails, but the color was nice.
So, that's it. I don't really have a pick of month since there were only two and I liked both of them equally, but I hope you enjoyed this anyway! See you soon :)

Fire and Ice
Hi, everyone! Today I have some really neat nails to share with you... thanks to my mom who gave me this idea! Fire and Ice nails - a strange theme, I know, but I didn't even really realize it until I was done. You see, I had a big swim meet this weekend and I wanted to paint my nails special for it. My mom gave me the idea to paint them coordinating the colors of my swim suit - it turned out really good!...
The thumbs were painted different colors from the four main nails and I alternated the colors on each hand - fire and ice! Hope you enjoyed :)

St. Patrick's Day Nails
Hi, everyone! Hope you all had a fun St. Patrick's Day! :) I got into the green spirit yesterday and did a simple green design on my nails...
I just painted my nails a pretty green (it was Sinful Colors "San Francisco" - beautiful color) and used a dotting tool with a lighter green to make the clover leaves and the little stem on the ring finger. It turned out really cute and simple. Hope you enjoyed! :)

Monthly Nails + Pick of the Month - February
Hi, everyone! It's time for my monthly nails again. I've only got two this month - both from the same brand :/. I guess I did more nail designs than planned :)...
This one turned out much darker than expected! It's e.l.f. "Party Purple". Not the most stunning of all colors, but a nice deep, dramatic purple.
This one is a beautiful nude color. It's again by e.l.f in the color "Nude". I love the color - I haven't tried nude polishes like this much but I really like it! My reaction to this brand is not too good, though. Although I've only tried it out twice, e.l.f nail polishes did not turn out the best. They went on the nail kind of patchy (do not attempt two coats, or it will look even more patchy - do one thick coat) and did not last long at all! After one day there were several chips. But I did not expect wonders with this brand - e.l.f. polishes run around $2 a piece. Very pretty colors, though.
The pick of the month is not too hard for me... e.l.f. "Nude" is a perfect natural color. It really sparked an interest in me for nude polishes like this. I think it looks great - it makes your nails look better and "polished" but isn't something too bold - although it is fun to use bold, bright colors sometimes :) Hope you enjoyed!

Valentines Hearts
Hi, everyone! I'm back again with a Valentines nail design. Really cute, and I thought I would share it with you all...
It turned out really adorable and girly! :) I used one of my favorite pearly-pink polishes (China glaze "Exceptionally Gifted") on all of my nails and then used a small dotting tool (a toothpick would work fine, too) and dotted some open hearts (with a lilac polish) randomly on my nails. Hope you liked this!
* * *
Also, an update from the last post - I mentioned on my last blog post "Winter Frost" that the design lasted "forever", I think I might know the trick. I've been trying out a new base coat and top coat and the last two times I used it were with the Winter Frost design and this one - this design is holding up really good, too! So I'm thinking I found the perfect base and top coats - we'll see. I'll have to do a lot more experimenting first, though. I will definitely give you an update on that in the future.

Winter Frost
Hi, everyone! I have a new winter design! It's very simple and uses a technique which I love to do.
You could do this design with any colors you'd like, but I chose a purple-blue and a frosty pink. It turned out really great and reminded me a lot of a snowy winter night. I used a purple-blue to paint on all of my nails (China Glaze "Bizarre Purple"), then I used Sally Hansen Diamond Strength in "Champagne Toast" (a favorite) and cleaned off both sides of the brush on the side of the bottle and painted it roughly half way up my nail. I used the pink again after the first coat's dry but didn't clean the brush off as well and painted it just on the tips. I'm not sure whether it was the polish I used or that I just painted more on the tips of my nails, but this has lasted me forever without a chip! You definitely need to try this one out!

Monthly Nails + Pick of the Month - January
Hi, everyone! I have a new monthly post for you - "Monthly Nails". I've made a new years resolution to paint my nails every weekend, whether it's just one color or a new design. So, at the end of each month (or beginning of the next month) I will do a blog post of all the one-colored nails I've done that month. That way, I can give a little review on each nail polish. So, you will be seeing about 3 or 4 different "nails" on each of these blog posts. Also, I will do a "pick of the month" on each of these posts - my favorite nails that I've done that month. Hope you all will enjoy these monthly posts! Here it is...
The first weekend this month I used Finger Paints "It's Baroque". It's a brown with a little bit of a green undertone. It doesn't sound that pretty, but it really was as it kind of changed color in the different lighting. It was fairly opaque - I still used two coats as I usually do. It stayed on an average amount of time before chipping a little - 2 days or so.
Next is Orly "Synchro". Beautiful! A pinky-purple with a blue undertone. Again, fairly opaque. Stayed on an average amount of time, too.
Last is Sally Hansen Salon Manicure in "Pedal to the Medal". This is one of my favorite lines of nail polish. Excellent in staying on with no chipping - very tough. It's, once again, fairly opaque. This color is very pretty, a metal-like color.
So, for this month's pick of the month I have to go with my last nails - Sally Hansen Salon Manicure in "Pedal to the Medal". Mostly because it's such a long wearing nail polish. I put it on Saturday morning and it's still going strong - very unusual.
Hope you enjoyed this! Feel free to leave a comment on your thoughts. Here's a link to the nail design I did earlier this month "Mermaid Nails"

Mermaid Nails
Hi, everyone! Today I have the easiest design in the history of my blog - and it's super stunning!...
I only used one coat of one nail polish! Amazing, isn't it? The photo doesn't quite show how stunning it really is. I didn't know a nail polish could be so opaque with just one coat. It's become my new favorite - China Glaze "Deviantly Daring". It's a beautiful duo-chromed teal-blue. Perfect mermaid nails!

New Years Nails
Hi, everyone! Happy New Year! 2013 is here, and I have a new nail design...
I thought it was pretty festive with the faded, sparkly, black tip. I used a nail kit I got for Christmas with some different polishes to make this, but you could just use your own. It had a shimmery white to paint all over the nails and then a grey to paint on the tips (about 1/3 from the tip). Before the grey dries, paint on a sparkly black polish about 1/2 way up the nail. Hope you enjoyed - great for parties or any other special event.
